FAQ
HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL I get?
It varies depending on how many hours I'm shooting, multiple events, etc., but I guarantee 1000 for weddings. My record is 3200. :) I'm happy to send more full galleries if you'd like to see!
DO WE NEED A SECOND SHOOTER?
Not necessarily. This is something we can talk through to see if it would make sense for you, but 80% of my weddings, I shoot solo.
WHAT GEAR ARE YOU USING?
Canon R5
Canon R6 (backup camera)
RF Lens 28-70 2.0
70-200mm lens
2 V1 Godox Flashes
2 LED lights w stands (if needed)
Pentax k100 35mm (film)
Olympus Stylus 105 (film)
Canon A-1 (film)
*film is not guaranteed, I just bring it for fun :)
ONCE WE PICK OUR PACKAGE, IS IT SET IN STONE?
Not at all! You're welcome to choose Collection 1, for example, sign the contract and send the deposit so we're official, and as we get closer, you decide to upgrade to Collection 2 or something, you can absolutely do that. It's hard to know sometimes on the front end how many hours of coverage you need, we can work through that together.
WHERE ARE YOU BASED AND DO YOU TRAVEL?
Spokane, Wa/Coeur d'Alene, ID and YES! :)
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?
The best way to get a feel for this would be to pour over my work, but probably some decent descriptive words to use would be a mix of documentary and editorial style. What's timeless to me is authenticity -- your skin tones, the colors you pick for your day, the scenery, etc. should all be accurate and true in my eyes. I'm carefully editing each photo with that in mind. Photos should reflect YOU and your personality as a couple, I'm never going to pose you in weird or awkward ways that conflict with who you are. My goal is to help you guys feel at ease and forget the camera is there.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN SHOOTING WEDDINGS?
This one has a couple answers -- I started shooting weddings as a videographer with my husband (Ferguson Films) in 2011. I value that time because it really trained my eye to scan a room and catch what's natural. The real gift was that I was able to watch countless photographers work -- it gave me a front row seat to what worked well and what I thought didn't. Eventually, I started getting asked to shoot photos for friends and family on the side, and after 3 years of experience with weddings, I got my first wedding photo opportunity in 2014. As more opportunities came, I took them, and here I am!
